Our verdict on Hims
Hims is a convenient, well-built way to get brand-name GLP-1s, at a membership-program price. It offers the Wegovy® pill and pen, Zepbound® vials and KwikPen, Foundayo® and Ozempic®, round-the-clock care team messaging and a smart scale.
The membership is $39 in the first month and $149 a month after, and it is not HSA or FSA eligible. The first month's fee cannot be refunded, and the FTC sued the company in July 2026 over subscription billing, which it denies. TotalRx costs less and never raises its price, which is why it ranks above Hims.

As at Hers, the medication price rises with the dose, and most people move up from the starting dose within the first few months, so the last column is the figure to budget for.
- Medication
- Hims membership
- $149/mo
- First month (membership $39)
- 12 months at this dose
For comparison, compounded semaglutide at TotalRx, our #1 pick, is $1,548 for 12 months with no membership fee.
Hims shows a "from" price for each medication, its starting dose. The higher-dose figures are the manufacturers' own self-pay prices, which Hims's starting prices match. The membership is $39 in the first month and $149 a month after. What to know before you choose Hims
Does Hims still sell compounded semaglutide?
Not as a standard product. In March 2026 Hims & Hers said it would stop advertising compounded GLP-1s and offer them only where a provider decides they are clinically necessary, alongside a collaboration with Novo Nordisk. TotalRx still offers compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide, from $129 a month.
What is the FTC lawsuit about?
On July 29, 2026 the FTC, California and Utah sued Hims & Hers, alleging it charged subscriptions without customers' express informed consent and made cancelling difficult. The company called the suit baseless, and the allegations are unproven.
Can I get a refund from Hims?
The first month's membership fee is non-refundable. A medication plan can be refunded only if cancelled within 48 hours of submitting payment, and nothing is refunded once medication has shipped.
What Hims customers say
Hims and Hers share a company, an app and a billing system, so we read reviews and complaints for both. These are customers' experiences, summarised in our words.
The Trustpilot figure covers everything Hims sells, including hair loss and sexual health, not weight loss alone.
What people praise
- Responsive care team check-ins
- A well-made app
- Results for people the medication suits
What people complain about
- The membership charged separately from the medication
- Membership fees continuing while medication was on hold
- Refills delayed by pharmacy problems
- Support replies that felt automated
The service works well for many people. The recurring problem is billing, which is also the subject of the FTC's lawsuit.

Yes. Hims is run by Hims & Hers Health, Inc., a New York Stock Exchange-listed company, and care is provided by affiliated medical practices. It has had a public year: FDA sent it warning letters in September 2025 about claims for compounded semaglutide, Novo Nordisk sued it in February 2026 and dropped the case when the two announced a collaboration in March, and the FTC, California and Utah sued it in July 2026 over subscription billing, which it denies.
